About this Patch Cap
The Irish patch cap from Jonathan Richards is a traditional men's cap made from 100% Donegal tweed. Each cap is made from the finest cuts of Herringbone and plain Donegal tweed as well as a mix of checks. We have seen first hand the detail that is involved in making the caps. The patches are sewn together and each one is pressed at the seams. A great cap for the wearer who cannot decide which style to go with!

About the Maker
A tour of the Jonathan Richards workshop is a fascinating experience. So many skilled craftsmen have their own responsibility. In this case with the patch caps, there is the cutter and the presser for example. Since 1924, this Irish hat maker have been making their hats in Dublin. Based in Ballyfermot outside the city centre, they have earned a reputation to the extent that celebrities have been seeing sporting their hats. If you look at Hollywood blockbusters such as The Wind that Shakes the Barley you will see that the cast wear their caps.
